About Us
Hello friends! My name is Dianne Elliott. In 2012, my father, Ronny Ammons, embarked on the ambitious project of building Sunset Retreat, a haven for quilters and craft enthusiasts alike. Being a quilter myself, I was particularly thrilled about this new venture. My passion for crafting initially blossomed through scrapbooking, a hobby that often saw me dragging my mother, Janie, along to retreats. Despite my initial reluctance, my mother, a self-taught quilter, eventually persuaded me to attend a quilting retreat, thus igniting my own journey in the world of quilting.
Following my father's passing, I found myself entrusted with the responsibility of managing a business amidst the Covid pandemic. It's a task I've taken on with determination and joy, hoping to honor my father's legacy with my efforts.
The Lord has blessed me with a servant heart which initially led me into nursing. Having put that career on hold, I have found joy in being able to resume the ability to serve others in this industry. As I continue to navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and family life, I strive to uphold the values and dreams that my Daddy instilled in me.
Daddy's passion for ranching extended beyond mere business; it was a labor of love, a legacy he wanted to pass down to future generations. He meticulously raised both commercial black Angus and show cattle, not only for the purpose of sustenance but also as a source of joy and pride for his grandchildren. My daughter, Addi, is fulfilling his dream by being actively involved in agriculture in both FFA and 4-H. My husband of 25+ years, James, not only is also avidly involved in assisting Addi with her agricultural pursuits but with the encouragement and guidance of my Dad has started up his own side business in agriculture. I believe Daddy is watching over us, proud to see how his wisdom and guidance continue to thrive in everything we do.
As I look toward the future, I am committed to expanding the reach of Sunset Retreat while staying true to the principles my father advocated. It’s a journey of hard work, faith, and heartfelt dedication—a journey I am honored and humbled to continue.
